There are many volunteer opportunities with the Pikes Peak Bar-B-Q Festival. Some are listed below. The Festival is a charity benefit for Operation Back To School. Operation Back To School, a Christmas Unlimited program, is an all-volunteer effort serving needy families in El Paso and Teller counties by providing children with basic school supplies. Last year OBTS gave sets of basic supplies to each of 3,204 at-risk children. Additionaly,large collections of supplies were distributed to eleven schools serving economically challenged neighborhoods, to be given students by school counselors. Volunteering at the Pikes Peak Bar-B-Q Festival helps insure that needy children throughout the region have the opportunity to succeed in school based on their ability rather than economic advantage.
